Ingredients

bell pepper, optional

olive oil
1 can (14 oz/398 ml)
diced tomatoes
1 cup prepared
Rosée Sauce

Preparation
  1. Chop garlic, pepper (if using), and onion.  
  2. Heat oil in Sauté Pan over medium-high heat. Add chopped garlic and veggies; stir-fry until onions are soft, about 6–8 min.  
  3. Stir in tomatoes and sauce; bring to a simmer, about 3 min, stirring often.  
  4. Use the back of a spoon to form 4 shallow wells in the sauce mixture. Crack an egg into each well. Reduce heat to medium-low and cover; simmer 7–8 min, or until eggs are just set.  
  5. If desired, sprinkle cheese over shakshuka in pan. Cover; let simmer until cheese is melted, about 1 min. 
Tips

Bulk up your shakshuka by adding canned chickpeas or beans in with the sauce mixture. 

Perfectly Balance Your Plate

Serve with 2 slices whole-grain toast.
